Pawn by Pawn — Scarlett Sky
From the album Everybody Loves Money
Meteorites, wartime letters, baseball cards, old guns, diamond rings, Pokémon, rusted signs, Cabbage Patch dolls, hot rods, dinosaur shit — if somebody wants it, somebody can sell it.
Pawn by Pawn lives behind the counter with the people who know a little about almost everything and a lot about what things are worth. They check the year, the maker, the mark, the condition, the story, the buyer — then decide whether the strange object in front of them is treasure, junk, or tomorrow’s inventory.
One customer brings a giant diamond. Another brings raccoon teeth. Somebody walks in with an old rifle in pieces. Somebody else has a collectible worth more than expected. None of it has to make sense. It only needs a market.
“Pawn by pawn, deal by deal,
What’s it worth and is it real?”
A fast Scarlett Sky story song about pawnbrokers, collectors, oddities, resale, and the simple fact that almost anything can find a buyer.
