Money, Money, Darling — Scarlett Sky
From the album Everybody Loves Money
Everybody has a system. Everybody knows the game. Right until they don’t.
Money, Money, Darling follows four men who are absolutely certain they understand money. One loses a crypto fortune with the password. One discovers his miraculous investment returns were climbing a pyramid. One buys silver that apparently exists mainly on paper. The last learns day trading in a week and promptly introduces his wife’s retirement account to leverage.
Crypto, Ponzi schemes, paper silver, options, margin and one extremely unfortunate Christmas basket all get their turn.
The chorus keeps counting while the stories keep getting worse:
Money, money, darling — greenbacks.
Money, money, darling — cold cash.
Everybody loves the money
Till the money names its price.
A darkly comic Scarlett Sky cabaret song about speculation, confidence, greed and the remarkable human ability to blame the market after doing something spectacularly stupid.
