Worth a Buck, In the Truck — Scarlett Sky
From the album Everybody Loves Money
Rockhounds have a simple rule: if it might be worth something, it is going in the truck.
Worth a Buck, In the Truck follows Kenny, John, and Frank through blue topaz, garnets, jade, kunzite, mineral claims, bad roads, broken bones, airport floors, poker tables, and the sort of rocks normal people would leave exactly where they found them.
Kenny spots stone from the road and stops. John owns land, mineral rights, and apparently the patience to taste unidentified rocks before asking questions. Frank owns a 300-plus-carat kunzite that most people would insure and lock away. Frank uses his to hold down the mail.
“Worth a buck?
IN THE TRUCK!”
The friendship starts with Kenny digging blue topaz on John’s property while John stands there with a gun, and somehow improves from there.
A Scarlett Sky story song about rockhounds, prospectors, landmen, collectors, questionable judgment, and the permanent belief that the next ugly lump might be thirty grand.
