Cowboys & Southern Belles — Scarlett Sky
New songs. Old South.
Cowboys & Southern Belles is Scarlett Sky’s Southern story album: Texas swing, western cabaret, rodeo dust, old houses, poker tables, Louisiana roads, family names, funerals, bad decisions, and the people who keep walking after all of it.
The album is built as a collection of character stories rather than generic country songs. Each track has its own plot, setting, and social world.
Track highlights:
Keep On Walking — a cowboy funeral, a riderless horse, reversed boots, and the instruction to buy new boots and keep moving.
My Derby Hat — race-day Southern style, social ritual, horses, judgment, and a hat with enough authority to enter before the woman wearing it.
Let It Rain — a dark Southern storm song about pressure, weather, and carrying on when the sky comes apart.
Where the Wind Remembers — old roads, old houses, letters, landscape, and the memory places keep after people leave.
Eight Seconds of Fire — bull riding reduced to eight violent seconds of balance, nerve, and survival.
Last Ride Before the Bride — one final Texas bachelor-party ride before marriage, with the same friends who made the earlier bad decisions possible.
Bless Your Heart — Southern manners, family loyalty, sharp warnings, and an alligator who understands consequences perfectly well.
Rodeo Fool — the rodeo clown: comic relief until a rider hits the dirt and somebody has to run toward the bull.
Louisiana Put It in Perspective — Atchafalaya, New Orleans, crawfish, road trouble, and the kind of trip that makes the original problem look smaller.
He Made Her Scarlett — the story of an old Southern house moved from Georgia, rebuilt as an anniversary gift, and given a second life through restoration.
Oil, Money & Kitchen Sink — northwest Houston oil country, ghost towns, abandoned houses, Spanish moss, boom-and-bust history, and one cast-iron kitchen sink stubborn enough to survive the whole thing.
Hold ’em, Boys — a Texas poker table full of bad reads, worse bets, acreage on the line, pocket kings, missing teeth, and men who should have gone home earlier.
